I have absolutely no further comment, but I’ve been quite low on topical references throughout the 15 years of my journaling, so I figured I’d put this in. It’s so much more important than, say, 20 Iraqi kids dying earlier in Basra, along with 48 others. Oh, I said no further comment. Oops…
PS- Jacko’s mugshot reminded me a little of Aremid…

I am not bored overall at work, as I do have plenty of work to do and actually find some of it interesting and challenging. (Now how about that?) But I do need frequent breaks (like every 5 minutes or so…yes, I know, I have a terrible work ethic, or at least I cannot concentrate on what I’m doing for more than 5 minutes without getting agitated), and I keep going to LJ, but no one has posted anything. So, humor me, give me one sentence.
Good news, we DO have AC here at work; someone is turning it on now.

I did some walking again at lunchtime, this time indoors, at Northgate. I hate malls, but they do have AC, unlike this office.

One minor annoyance at work…since we don’t have a breakroom, then microwave is out in the open, about ten feet from my cube, and so I smell every frozen entree that is nuked throughout the day. This does not just occur during lunch hours; I generally am smelling something between 10 and 4 everyday. Since nothing being nuked is particularly appetizing, these scents do not make me hungry.

One of Nan Keohane’s crowning achievements of her reign as empress of Duke over the past decade was completely overhauling residential life. I know she spent far more time raising billions of dollars than caring about where selective living groups would be living on campus, but it was her vision that ultimately resulted in Psi U getting moved from its home of 25+ years in Craven Quad to the new WEL dorms. Well, yesterday the WEL was officially renamed Keohane Quad. So Psi U now resides in Keohane Quad. How ironic. To her credit, Nan did personally reply to an email I sent her back in 1994 or 1995 expressing my concern over the plans to shuffle the selective houses. I was superdav@duke.edu, and she said I had an “interesting moniker.”

Sometimes I wake up so fucking empty, I wish I’d never been born, but what choice do I have? – Rachel Griffiths as Brenda, Six Feet Under, Season One, Episode 5
Yeah, that pretty sums things up. Must go to sleep…

A well-written piece on the matter, picked from . Apparently the arguments presented here don’t mean a thing to those folks in Alabama who were supporting Justice Moore and his ten commandments display.
[I like spreading stuff like this through LJ...it seems less of an invasion of other's space than email. And I really feel it's almost a responsiblity to post the kind of things that I believe in, because the opposing side is certainly doing the same, and I obviously want the ideas I believe in to influence more people...I'm rambling...]

And it’s only 83 degrees. I sweat too easily. Perhaps I sweat too easily because I’m too heavy. One reason I don’t like physical activity is because I don’t like to sweat so much. But if I’m going to stop being too heavy, I’ll need to sweat. I walked to get my lunch, just a few blocks to the horrible Rainbow Chinese buffet on Main Street. I’ll never do that (eat there) again. It would be nice to walk a few blocks to lunch everyday, but I’ll really hate it once the summer is upon us.

From the TR guestbook:
Toastie, you are the TOP TOAST OF MY TOWN. Love the Songs you play (infact i don’t think i’ve listened to other Web-casts after i’ve found yours).
Keep it up…you really ROCK!!! Well more like Sway, since it’s not a rock channel is it. :)
That just made me happy. Some may say this means that Pakastanis have bad taste in music, and they do have a military dictatorship, and some of their folks allegedly support terrorism, but I like ‘em!
