Any car parked in the ATC South parking deck got a laminated postcard on its windshield some time around noon yesterday. The postcard was for Zen Cleaning or something like that. I forget the exact name, and I’ll correct this later if I can find one of these post cards. Solicitation of this sort is not allowed in the ATC parking decks. Peak Fitness generated a bunch of litter a few weeks ago by putting flyers on all the windshields. But I don’t think Peak Fitness touts themselves as giving a crap about the environment. This Zen home cleaning service is supposedly all about being eco-friendly. What did they think was going to happen to the hundreds of laminated postcards they dropped off in the parking deck? I really hope they don’t gain any business from this marketing ploy. We have a friggin internet. Why do businesses still resort to putting ads on windshields?

Agreed. I came out of the grocery store the other day and had a slick bilingual postcard on my window advertising men’s suits for $49. Not that I’d wear men’s suits, but if I did, I’d probably want to invest more than $49 for one.
I had only been in the store for about ten minutes, and I was certain the person posting them still had to be in the parking lot, so I foolishly drove the long way ’round to the exit. I was hoping to see him/her so I could ball up the ad and throw it at him/her. I quickly realized I was being ridiculous on many levels and just went home instead. (Me? Anger issues? Huh?)
We get these on campus all the time. The most frustrating is when you come out of class into a downpour, dash to your car, hop in and start up your wipers just to have bits of paper smear all over the place. Grrr! lol
Moral? Look on the bright side; it wasn’t a rainy day and your car was covered anyway? Or, as an ex used to say, “It could be worse, you’re not on fire…” Ah, pessimism masked as optimism…
we must concentrate more on eco-friendly materials and practices to help save the environment.*-’
nowadays we would always use eco-friendly stuffs like, eco friendly foods, shoes and bags ‘:.
