TB: New Boston ferns, but are they safe?

I bought two large Boston ferns this morning to hang on the porch. I should put up a picture. (I’ve stolen this image from the University of Minnesota). But then I also need to take some pictures of the nice progress my tiny little crepe myrtles are making. I certainly have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to landscaping, other than trying to add some visual appeal to the bungalow.

Unfortunately, in addition to all the other concerns one must have living in urban Durham, we also have to contend with plant thieves, as the News & Observer reports.
