I dropped my car off at the collision center yesterday to get some minor damage fixed. People were talking about a horrible accident that had happened on I-40 earlier in the day, that drunk driver had gone the wrong way. He slammed into a man who was just going about his business, heading off to work. That man is dead.

So, like, don’t sweat the bullshit.
And, like, don’t be an asshole and drink and drive.
And, like, don’t be an asshole and do a u-turn without slowing down in the middle of a residential street just to taunt the asshole who just almost caused an accident because he didn’t like that you were just being a slow, safe Durham Pace Car driver. Because I did that, and that’s why I was at the collision center yesterday. And now I have to drive a Chevy Cobalt.

The only injuries were to my car, my wallet, the integrity of the Durham Pace Car program, and my belief in the goodness of my neighborhood.
On the other hand, the man who was killed on I-40 lived in Cary.
