About Toastie

Toastie (October 2007)I’m a left-wing misanthrope using my blog as a place to vent, occasionally inform, and, on rare occasion, amuse. I don’t strive to be well-written, nor am I writing for any particular audience. I began this website, Toastiest, in February 2007 after finding other blogging platforms inadequate. Entries between December 2003 and January 2007 have been copied from a LiveJournal account, which still exists, but only for more private blogging. Prior to December 2003, I kept a private journal for nearly 15 years. On September 1, 2007, I launched Toastie ’97, which serves a repository for entries I began writing back in September 1993.

Sometimes my Toastiest posts could be construed as offensive, particularly to those with particularly conservative or religious beliefs. On rare occasion, I may offend all common sensibilities. I offer no blanket apologies, but I am perfectly willing to acknowledge when I’ve been ignorant or naive. I very rarely go back to old entries to censor myself, although I may offer a follow-up comment if, in retrospect, a previously-expressed opinion has been mitigated.

I aspire to someday be a recovering misanthrope. Despite my penchant for negativity and snark, I can be a pretty nice guy.
