Of course he does!
Cats are awesome!
Wow, I never thought I’d meet anyone as obsessed with their cats as me! I’m glad I’m not the only one.
My girlfriend has a cat I call Special Kitty (her actual name is Bete, which is French for “Stupid” or so I’m told) that head butts people instead of rubbing against them. Its kind of funny because she’ll just suddenly and forcefully headbutt you several times.
The cat’s apparently some variant of a Siamese where they get all the recessive genes bundled into one cat. So she’s got all sorts of oddities – she can’t meow (she does a weird squeak thing) and gets freaked out by the most random things, as well as peeing all over you if you take her near an open door/outside. Very strange kitty.
Its adorable to hear your cat does the headbutting thing – I think that’s really awesome. Makes me wish I could afford having a cat. :(
I’m going to slightly turn pessimistic here and ruin it…cats have scent marking glands in their heads around that area, when they headbutt you, they’re really claiming you as their territory. Slightly less romantic…
I know when they rub up against you, they’re marking you, but I’ve read in many places that the headbutt to your head is a sign of affection. But these are probably unscientific sources.
Anyway, he is very prolific about claiming me as his territory, which makes me happy.
No, you’re not. I’m obsessed with my cats.
Are you sad when you have to go to work in the morning and leave them? I am.
Yes, very. My tabby Zellouisa will basically just stay asleep. But my boy Aremid will meow pitifully when I finally get out of bed, and then he’ll follow me into the bathroom when I shower and wait on top of the hamper for me to finish. Then he’ll meow as I get ready. He doesn’t want me to go.
