Moving, draining, exceptional. Not an easy movie to write about, especially without giving away spoilers, so I won’t really try. When I saw that Clint Eastwood had been nominated for Best Actor, my reaction was, “Geez, he’s already nominated for Best Director, and Paul Giamatti got robbed for Sideways“. Whenever there’s a movie I really want to see, I skip the reviews, because I want to know as few details as possible. Then I read the review afterwards, which usually helps me better understand and appreciate it.
