Moving, draining, exceptional. Not an easy movie to write about, especially without giving away spoilers, so I won’t really try. When I saw that Clint Eastwood had been nominated for Best Actor, my reaction was, “Geez, he’s already nominated for Best Director, and Paul Giamatti got robbed for Sideways“. But Eastwood clearly deserves it. He’s brilliant. Hilary Swank is amazing. Morgan Freeman is great. I’m done… * * * *
Whenever there’s a movie I really want to see, I skip the reviews, because I want to know as few details as possible. Then I read the review afterwards, which usually helps me better understand and appreciate it.
