From today’s NYT and several others sources, regarding Cheney’s attendance at last night’s Yankees game in NY:
During the singing of “God Bless America” in the seventh inning, an image of Cheney was shown on the scoreboard. It was greeted with booing, so the Yankees quickly removed the image.

Looks like Bush’s handlers screwed up a little bit. I’m sure they’re glad the interview hasn’t played much on this side of the pond.

Because if Bush’s assult on the environment, tax gifts to the wealthy, alienation of most of the world, and complete mismanagement of Iraq (among other issues) still result in this 50/50 split presented here, then I’d just have to do some shooting of something with my gun. Right now, all I can do is write in here…
So I think we’ve established why guns are bad. Nothing in my background would prevent me from getting a gun legally. They’re probably pretty cheap, right? I don’t know how to use one, but that doesn’t matter, right? It will make me feel better when I am angry, right? It will give me power over people I don’t like, right?

Because if I had witnessed kids doing what these kids did, I’d have shot them.

Because if I had one, I’d probably have aimed it at the guy who was trimming the shrubs at 7:30 this morning. The intolerable buzz right next to my window not only woke me up, but collected all of my anger related to everytthing and centralized it into one mass that was capable of anything. Alas, I waited too long and shouted some stuff after the guy had already gone too far away, slamming my porch door a couple of times just to wake up whatever neighbors might have somehow managed to get over the shrub-trimming.
Woods Edges’ phone line would ring and then give a busy signal each time I called. Great; nice to know that in a real emergency, there is no way to contact anyone .I would have left a bitter message for them telling that I’d move the hell out of here if they ever woke me up for such an unnecessary thing ever again.
After having had to be at work at 8:30 yesterday, today was the last day I wanted to be up earlier than I needed to be. If I wake up early on my own, that’s great. But having the sound of a dentist’s drill at your window for no reason other than to have some shrubs trimmed is going to make me go berzerk.

I have Photoshop installed at work, and I finally learned how to extract an image from its background, thanks to Nate here at DCS. So that userpic is my first attempt.

Duffy’s here right now. I took her away from H&C’s new house in Apex for awhile so they can do some unpacking without worrying about her. Aremid was indifferent to Duffy for awhile and didn’t seem to mind her sniffing him or even laying on the bed with him. He didn’t show the slightest bit of hostility, seeming to tolerate the dog better than he tolerates Zellouisa. But he also seems forlorn. “What is this?” he asks. “Seven years with Zellouisa and now this? I give up.” And he was last seen moping away, back out to the patio. Zellouisa on the other hand is nothing but hostile. She’s been under the bed the whole time, and she hisses any time Duffy comes near her. Oh, I know I couldn’t really handle having a dog…
