Having had a few gay friends, and currently in the midst of watching season one of Six Feet Under and watching how painful it is for the character of Dave to grabble with his sexuality, I don’t find this URL joke amusing at all. Am I being overly sensitive here, or am I right to think this is insulting to gays?
I don’t think you are being overly sensitive (and even if I did, sensitivity is usually a turn on). It is wrong to laugh at someone just because they are trying to be an individual and in the process do things differently than the norm. Honestly, when I read your post and the article I feel sadness more than anything else. Hopefully some day people will learn that no one wants to be laughed at, and until then, at least your heart is in the right place.
